Discover how to get started with ease and build up your fitness. Together we build a hike fitness training program that takes you from where you are now to being ready to take on Australia's highest peak.

There is so much information out there about hiking that knowing where and how to start is challenging.

The program teaches you the skills, knowledge and mindset you need to successfully hike to the summit of Australia's highest peak.

We've designed the program to ensure that everyone on the C2M journey is in a similar start position.

A leader is always at the front and back, so you never hold others back. And, as you will soon find out, the goal switches from an individual to team effort.

When you join the Couch2Mountain Hike Training and Adventure Program.


Online Interactive Tutorial sessions

When the program starts, we meet every fortnight*, online and together we build YOUR hike training and fitness plan, based on your timetable and YOUR current fitness level. We begin with habit forming and slowly introduce distance, pace, backpacks and functional fitness.

The program is designed to maximise enjoyment and build confidence. So that when it's time for our in-person adventure, your hiking fitness, skills and mindset will match your gear, equipment and excitement. *approx 11 sessions in 22 weeks.


Hiking Fitness Plans

Your personal Hike Training Plan is all yours. Each month we set goals for the Fundamentals of Hiking Fitness - cardio fitness, endurance and strength.


Using your program template, you'll learn simple ways to boost those 3 elements, set mini goals for yourself and step into the next level of fitness. With access to a library of On Demand Functional Fitness Exercise sessions and Weekly accountability, your hiking fitness will quickly progress.


Interactive Social Walk & Talk sessions

Your Couch2Mountain journey will be shared with women from all over Australia. And it is such a delight to get to know each other so that when we meet for the in person adventure, it's like we are long term friends.

Our interactive Social Walk & Talk sessions held over Zoom and are the perfect place to get to know your fellow adventurers in a more personal setting. Simply connect from wherever you are.


Resources, Workbooks & Checklist

Along the Couch2Mountain journey we share lots of information, checklists, hints, tips and more. To ensure that it's at your fingertips, you have access to the Couch2Mountain Portal, where all of your resources are in one place.

From downloadable workbooks and fitness charts, to meeting replays, to the social walk & talk notes, checklists, itineraries, gear lists and more.


Private Couch2Mountain Facebook Group

Building camaraderie, asking questions and sharing success is easy inside your Private Couch2Mountain Facebook Group. This group is ONLY for your Couch2Mountain cohort and quickly becomes your go to place.


Weekly Accountability

In the Couch2Mountain program we ask that you check in weekly with our "Pineapple Friday" check in. It's the Friday weekly post inside the Private Facebook Group where we ask us to share how your plan went for the past week.

Our past participants tell us that the weekly accountability is one of their favourite things, for keeping them on track, moving them forward and checking in on themselves.

In person adventure

At the end of our 20 weeks online training program, we meet in Canberra for our 4 day in person hiking adventure. Included is:

  • 3 nights twin share hotel accommodation
  • All private transfers from Canberra to Jindabyne and to Mt Kosciuszko National Park
  • All meals and snacks for the trail
  • All permits & insurances
  • First Aid Kit & Satellite communications
  • Your Women's Fitness Adventures C.R.E.W leader and a Qualified Alpine Hiking Guide
  • Awards & Celebration Dinner.
  • 22km hike to the Summit of Mt Kosciuszko and a three quarter day hike.

Women's Fitness Adventures has impacted the lives of all the women who have become involved with us since we started over 10 years ago. And we are always hearing from women across the world who are asking how they can be involved.

About 8 years ago (3 years after starting Women's Fitness Adventures) I had an idea, a dream, to design an interactive hike training program that could encourage, teach and train women to successfully complete a multi day hiking adventure, regardless of where they lived. AND bring us together IN PERSON for that adventure.


Where we could celebrate our achievement and each other.

As women, especially if you are over 50 like me, life can get pretty busy. And sometimes, we end up leaving "us" behind - through our genuine care for others, looking after parents, illness, injury, work-life balance or anything else.

What is the Couch2Mountain program?

The Couch to Mountain program is a 20 week online, interactive hiking fitness and skills training program for women that culminates in an all-inclusive, in-person hiking adventure to Australia's highest peak, Mt. Kosciuszko.

When will I be able to book my place in the program?

Bookings will OPEN for our Couch2Mountain 2025 program immediately after our LIVE Webinar on Sunday May 18th.

How can I confirm my spot in

the program?

We strongly suggest you register for the LIVE Webinar before booking into the program. This Webinar will answer all of your questions.

What does the program include?

The program includes online interactive tutorial sessions, hiking fitness plans, interactive social walk and talk sessions, resources, workbooks and checklists, a private Facebook group, weekly accountability check-ins, welcome kits, and an in-person adventure hiking to the summit of Mt. Kosciuszko.

Is the program suitable for beginners?

Yes, the program is perfect for beginners who want to get started with hiking but haven't had a regular fitness routine in a while. The program is designed to take you from where you are now to being ready to take on Australia's highest peak.

When does the program start?

The Live Webinar is on Sunday May 18th. Bookings will open from that date.

The lessons and programs start in July 2025 and continue through until December, ending with our in-person adventure to the Kosciuszko National Park.

When are the adventures?

The program starts early July.

There are two groups for our in person adventures. The first is November 30- December 3rd 2025 and the second is December 5-8, 2025

What if I can't attend the live webinar?

That's OK! While we encourage everyone to attend the live session to chat with Yvonne and other participants, a replay of the live session will emailed to everyone who registers, so you won't miss out.

Do I need any special equipment for the program?

You will need access to a computer or tablet and a phone to participate in the online sessions.

You will also need hiking gear and equipment for the in-person hiking adventure. A detailed list of required equipment will be provided to you as part of the program. We will provide comprehensive guides and checklists for your gear and equipment so you can plan to buy, borrow or hire appropriate equipment. Depending on your current gear and equipment, you may need to set aside some additional funds. This is covered in the Live Webinar.

What are the payment terms?

Full Booking Terms & Conditions will be available to view once bookings are open. They will also be detailed in full during the live webinar.

Your investment in this Transformational Program is an initial deposit, with payment instalments along the way in accordance with the Terms and Conditions of the Program.

Where will the in-person hiking adventure take place?

The in-person hiking adventure will take place in the Mt. Kosciuszko National Park.

How many people are in
each program?

Each program has a maximum of 18 participants, one Women's Fitness Adventures Leader and one Specialist Alpine Hiking Guide.

Who will lead the program?

The program will be led by one experienced Women's Fitness Adventures C.R.E.W Leader, along with a Specialist Alpine Hiking Guide for the in-person adventure.
